Senate passes bill against trans girls playing girls’ sports

HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Senate handed Republican-sponsored laws Tuesday to prohibit transgender women from participating in women’s athletics.

Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf will veto the laws if it can make it to his desk, his spokeswoman Beth Rementer claimed.

“Republicans in the Typical Assembly have made it obvious that they would rather concentrate on awareness trying to get stunts instead of addressing crucial problems,” she explained in an e-mail.

More than a dozen other states have enacted laws that bans transgender athletes from collaborating in sports activities regular with their gender identity.
